Charities for the reign were: PFLAG of Greater Cincinnati, YWCA Breast Cancer Fund, Stop-AIDS, AIDS Volunteers of Northern Kentucky and Caracoe House. Reign XVII also supported other charities, including: FACE (For AIDS Children Everywhere), Moveable Fast (Lexington), The Gay and Lesbian Community Center Pride Committee.

We also participated in the Cincinnati Alternative Volleyball League and had several members play in the River City Softball League.

This year, Mike and Poison tried to break two Guinness Book records for Longest Variety Show and Largest Drag Show. As of today, we have not heard if they had been awarded.

The ISQCCBE and Reign XVII were represented at 15 out of town coronations including Boise, Boston, Buffalo, Calgary, Chicago, Connecticut, Hamilton-Wentworth, Houston, Iowa, Lexington, Long Beach, Phoenix, San Antonio, Seattle and Toronto.

During August, there were two candidates for Empress, Maxie Malone and Priscilla De Ville. For the first time, there were no candidates for Emperor, so a regent was appointed. Coronation XVIII "An Evening of Magic and Mystery in the Enchanted Tiki Hut…A Disney Luau Gone Loco" was held inn the Grande Ballroom of the Millennium Hotel in Downtown Cincinnati on September 8, 2008. Mike and Poison stepped down and were succeeded by Priscilla De Ville and Regent Jay Rickels.
